Our Programs
Adult Education Program
A community of self-sufficient adults is
a community of pride that passes on from
generation to generation. Our goal is
to help establish that sense of pride by
providing programs that produce victors,
not victims. Restore has partnered with
organizations who provide monthly
seminars in life skills, such as
parenting, nutrition, job skills, and
computer skills.

Children's
Learning Center
Restore Orlando provides an
after-school/after care program
from the hours of 2:30 - 6:00
p.m. for
the youth of the Holden Heights
community. Programs we've offered in
the Learning Center are reading
and math tutoring, homework
assistance, computer
instruction, a mentor program, a
dance program, and a teen
volunteer leadership program.
Additional programs include
sports, arts and crafts, and
educational field trips. The
Restore Orlando gymnasium
provides indoor basketball, |
 |
|
volleyball and other
activities which help to keep
the children safe from the
streets.
In an effort to aid the schools
in increasing reading scores on
standardized tests, Restore will
be implementing a new reading
program (Reading for Success)
during the 07-08 school year. |
Community
Outreach Program
The primary goal of this program is to
instill and restore a deeper and lasting
hope that comes through a relationship
with Jesus Christ to families and
individuals of the Holden Heights
community. This is being established
through evangelism, prayer, education,
and economic development.
Kids Café
Kids Cafe provides healthy meals five
days a week for children who otherwise
may go hungry. Studies show that a
healthy meal enables children to achieve
higher in academics, sports and other
activities. Kids Café is a program
affiliated with the Second Harvest Food
Bank of Central Florida and is funded
jointly with the Fathers' Table
Foundation.
Recreation
Programs
The specific goal of Restore Orlando
Recreational components is as follows:
We are to “infuse” the gospel of Jesus
Christ in all facets of this program.
The tenets that the Lord has given us
are deeply embedded in the very core of
the Sports/Recreation piece of the
program. This without question separates
Restore Orlando’s activities from that
of the secular after school programs.
Our primary concerns are to: seek Godly
character, love, respect, humility,
effort, gratitude, courage, patience,
compassion, teamwork, conflict
resolution and sportsmanship. “All”
activities begin and end with prayer.
There are two statements you will
constantly hear echoed by the children.
“With God all things are possible and
Fall down seven, get up eight”.
The recreational piece
makes us “unique” in that we teach the
history and fundamentals of each
individual sport. Our program includes
the following: Martial Arts, baseball,
basket ball, soccer, football
(Flag/Touch) and track/field. At
Restore, we seek to strengthen the
“mind, body, and spirit”. Individuals
that instruct in our program have
participated in the very “highest levels
of training and competition.” We also
track spiritual maturity, academic
progress and sports/Martial Arts
participation. Each year we reward (4-6)
individuals with a trip to NY to engage
in fellowship, sight seeing and Karate
Training with some of the most senior
Karate Masters. Those individuals
involved in soccer, basketball,
football, and baseball are rewarded by
attending either NBA or College games
and other events. In closing, the
wellness piece is a critical one in the
USA. Many children and families are
regrettably overweight along with other
maladies.

|

provide a quality educational
and spiritual experience for low
income children of
Holden Heights and other
underprivileged Inner City

enhancement and decision making
skills. |
